MY STORY...
Where were you when you started?
-Shift-worker, 11 hours/day, owning 1 house with a mortgage (asset /liability =1/3 split respectively)
-1 RRSP account with a private financial firm
-1 RRSP account with the local bank
Each annual vacation was a gamble with a credit card. After returning from the annual family trip, the re-payment of the credit card/LOC began. This process lasted a year (until pay-off of the borrowed funds) only to repeat it for the next year.
The outlook of my mutual funds account was rather bleak (not ensuring a 'freedom 55' as so often advertised).
What role did Keyspire play in your success?
As an immigrant to Canada I wasn't aware of the possibilities of real estate investments. Real estate investments, in my opinion, were the stuff of corporations, investment firms etc. Keyspire opened my eyes and 'injected' excitement, excitement of a new future path. In projecting our future portfolio annually, we are now on track in supplementing our retirement income through these investments, allowing us to live financially secure in our retirement.
What has been the biggest benefit of the Keyspire program you attended? How has it helped improve your family life?
After Keyspire opened my eyes, that real estate investing was possible for everyone, our family looked at income and creation of income with a purpose. We are no longer looking at saving accounts and roll over surplus from a possible month end good budgeting. Keyspire became a character forming process, being responsible for our own future (time and finances) as well as educating oneself in a subject never thought of (investments). Keyspire made us be bold, use financing, leverage and meet new people through newly created (likeminded people) networking groups.
Have you made money or increased you net worth using any of Keyspire training programs? If so, how many deals have you done? How long did it take? How much actual time did you spend to make what amount of money? How much has your net worth increased?
Deals/transactions were attempted many times (sometimes as training scenario in acquiring properties). Real deals which came to a full transaction: 9 (including JV's/LP's).
Our family net-worth has increased by 25% in 4 years. However, some JV's are just taking off the ground this year and the percentage ratio will likely increase due to the annual ROI and annual distributions.
If applicable, how has a Keyspire coach or advanced training helped you?
The first Keyspire coach or motivator was actually the first Keyspire course instructor.
He was encouraging and engaging but not like a salesman character. In that approach, I started to feel confidence and gained trust in the Keyspire program and in real estate investing itself.
What obstacle(s) did you face and what role did Keyspire play to help overcome the obstacles?
After a traffic accident, resulting in a couple years with a low Long Term Disability income, unable to finance mortgage of our own home- we decided to sell and use the proceeds to invest in real estate. This step(selling of the house) would have been taken place anyway, but the direction and the results thereof would have likely been very different. We were fortunate to further use our newfound knowledge (Keyspire) to utilize these funds for long term stability and income. This year, 2020, my wife lost her job due to Covid 19. However, and again, thanks to Keyspire, we were able to concentrate our energy into further investments, re-investing a maturing syndicated mortgage loan, and selling one of our duplex created properties in Ontario (due to the seller's market condition), and of course re-investing the proceeds.
What would you say to someone who is thinking about getting started in Real Estate using Keyspire programs? Would you recommend it?
Keyspire is a proven system, which has applications and is expandable into any market conditions. The Keyspire program provides a benefit of a networking group, personal, and professional. Keyspire recommended partners, like lawyers, insurance, or mortgage brokers that are always available to assist or to refer you to the right 'partner'.
Whether you have made money using Keyspire programs or not, has your newfound knowledge helped your confidence or outlook for your future?
Confidence yes, more than so, it has been incorporated into our lifestyle. We actually have "incorporated", proudly handing out our business cards at network meet-ups and showing off our small but informative website. Our investments in properties and JV's, holding properties, are held in our corporation. This will be a legacy passing on in our family.
How do Keyspire programs, strategies and materials compare with others you have seen or used?
I tend to trust Keyspire materials more than other things I read online. I am not sure if it is warranted, but from my experience, Keyspire holds the BEST professionals in the business who only want success for their fellow Keyspire-ites....Kespireians??? Competition is not the name of the game.
Has anyone from the Keyspire team inspired you? (e.g. SCott, Michael, coaches etc.) If so, how?
Scott at the initial 'crowd pleasing event', showing in a simple language with a simple formula and easy to understand examples, that real estate investing can be done by everybody. At the summit, Michael struck me as an honest ethical landlord and investor. This ethic set the tone for my future deals and investment attempts. I am looking in a JV or other passive investment that these investment offerings also benefit the local community. As a landlord, I support my tenants in supplementing their hydro in difficult times, send Christmas or baby shower gifts and address repair issues in a timely manner.
How much has your income increased due to your successful strategies?
My calculated annual income, I contribute to the Keyspire-way, has increased by 50%. However, the income I draw is minimal to avoid unnecessary consumer debt. Most of this newfound stream of income, has been re-invested in passive investments, to prepare a sizeable retirement portfolio.
